Norse Security has been supporting the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) team at Norfolk County Council for almost a year now, installing and maintaining its camera network and supporting the system that monitors transport and traffic.
Case Study Overview
The contract for the installation, maintenance and support of Intelligent Transport Systems for Norfolk County Council was recently moved into the management of Norse Security’s state-of-the-art Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
Since taking it on, we have recognised security issues that have resulted in the completion of a major renewal programme, encompassing 11 cameras.
We also quoted for, and installed, six new cameras in new locations across Norfolk.
Our dedicated, experienced engineer now also carries out regular maintenance visits on all cameras, covering more than 60 locations.
This service is supported by a 24/7 helpdesk function via our control room, allowing us to log issues and carry out repairs at pace when they arise.
We have regular monthly meetings to ensure all parties are kept in the loop on both new and upcoming works, as well as the regular maintenance Norse Security carries out to ensure the system remains operational.
Case Study Impact
There have been a number of key benefits to both the client and the community as a result of this contract.
The quality of new cameras being installed has been greatly improved and Norse Security has helped reduce energy consumption through the use of more efficient technology.
The cameras provided also give a full HD image and full 45x zoom, allowing for much clearer images and faster collection of data.
Norse Security offers 24/7 response, with any issues now logged and dealt with swiftly and effectively.
We are able to work rapidly to find solutions to problems using the technology provided by our suppliers at Oprema.
Norse Security also has the ability to move rapidly to deploy cameras to remote locations, supporting the client when there is increased strain on the network and monitoring is required at short notice.
With the effective use of the CCTV systems we oversee, and the ability to monitor the traffic flow, the ITS team at Norfolk County Council is able to adjust traffic signals to allow for smoother flow and to ease congestion at peak times.
